FROM THE PRESIDENT'S DESK
Respected Teachers, Senior Members Of Society And My Dear Friends Namaskar And A Good Morning to One and All.
On this auspicious occasion of Ramnavami, I stand before you with great honor and immense gratitude, as I take the responsibility of President of our prestigious The Solapur Obstetrics and gynecological society for the year 25 -26.
Shri राम राम रामेती
रमे रामे मनो रमे
I take blessings from Lord Ram to serve our society with dedication and integrity.I would like to begin by sharing my journey in medicine. As a child, I always wanted to become a doctor, as my parents, Dr. Satish Mulay and Dr. Kunda Mulay, were leading general practitioners in Nagpur, aptly called family doctors. They have always been my role models. I witnessed the love and respect they received from their patients and their families. So, becoming a doctor was bound to happen.
Frankly speaking, while growing up, I didn't know that any profession other than medicine existed. Marrying into the Kulkarni family was a dream come true. With so many stalwarts in my family, I began my journey in the field of obstetrics and gynecology at Shri Banshankari Devi Hospital and Ramkrishna Hospital. Learning from Dr. V. B. Kulkarni, Dr. Rohini Deshpande, and Dr. Raghunandan was a blessing. They played a crucial role in shaping the person I am today. In fact, we were the first to bring a 3D/4D machine to Solapur.
Working as a Medical Officer in Solapur Mahanagapalika gave me insights into the challenges of obstetric practice and motivated me to improve women's health. We conducted various camps and public awareness programs on adolescent health, anemia, Pap smear, and MMR vaccination. This experience will undoubtedly help me organize public awareness camps for the betterment of women’s health.I owe a lot to our society. I have learned so much during my tenure as Clinical Secretary, Honorary Secretary, and Vice President. I have closely observed the dynamic leadership of Chitnis Madam and Rohini Madam at AMOGS.Late Dr. Manjiri Chitale Madam taught me the fundamentals of office work. All this groundwork will undoubtedly be valuable to me as President. For my tenure, we have chosen the theme: learning, unlearning, and relearning. We all know that learning is a continuous process and we are a student life long.we are always doing this by arranging our CME s and clinical meetings to sharpen our knowledgeThe most important part is unlearning. We must unlearn outdated methods that may not be relevant in today's context, so that we can make space for new. The good news about unlearning is that this process is actually enjoying. In our practice, it means moving beyond traditional approach of child birth,or revisiting management of conditions like PCOS and Endometriosis based on newer evidences. And finally relearning is the act of continuously updating OUR KNOWLEDGE , with the latest research. In the recent past there are so much breakthrough innovations in our field. Such as in Robotics,Minimal invasive surgery and Cosmatic Gynecology. This includes laser and regenerative therapies, PRP, stem cell therapy, and exosomes, which are now trending in the management of menopause and birth injuries. These advancements have brought significant relief to women’s lives. Earlier, we often felt helpless in such cases, but now we have effective treatment options for these patients. With this motto, we have planned a clinical meeting that will focus on a specific topic.
We have planned Sampoorna CME in association with FOGSI.CME on Medicolegal and MTP in Obstetric and Gynecology Practice with FOGSI and AMOGS.CME on Infertility and PCOD in association with ISAR and AMOGS.Presidential conference.Planning of CME with Physicians,Peadriatric and Adolescent Endocrinologist.Paramedical staff training Programme.Public awarness on HPV DNA vaccine and HPV DNA Screening of our members.
We have decided to adopt a multidisciplinary team approach by collaborating with microbiologists, cardiologists, dermatologists, and neurologists to gain a better understanding of the subject.
We will share the activity calendar every month so that members can block the dates in advance. There will be small and sweet family and Entertainment Programs.
